I get “Error opening link” when connecting my glasses.

Make sure Developer Mode is enabled in the Meta AI app, and confirm your glasses are connected in Meta AI.

How to fix it

  • Open the Meta AI app and enable Developer Mode.
  • Verify the glasses show as connected in the Meta AI app.

I can't connect my glasses.

Check battery level, make sure Developer Mode is enabled in Meta AI, confirm the glasses are connected in Meta AI, and reconnect them from the MetaLens AI settings.

How to fix it

  • Make sure your glasses are fully charged.
  • Make sure Developer Mode is enabled in Meta AI.
  • Make sure your glasses are connected in Meta AI.
  • Open the MetaLens AI app, go to Settings, and tap Connect My Glasses.

Still does not work?

  • If you still experience issues after completing the steps above, close the MetaLens AI app and reopen it. Then try to connect your glasses again.
  • If the issue persists, close the app and turn off the glasses. Then reopen the app first and turn on the glasses second.
  • As a last resort, clear the app data. Touch and hold the MetaLens AI icon, open App Info, tap Clear data, and then relaunch the app.
  • If none of the steps above help, contact us using the email address in the footer.

We lost the connection to your glasses.

This usually means the Bluetooth link was lost or the Meta Wearables connection managed by the Meta AI app did not establish correctly.

How to fix it

  • Go to Settings and tap Disconnect my glasses.
  • Then tap Connect my glasses and complete the connection again.
  • If it still fails, make sure your glasses are charged. Below ~30% battery, connection issues are more likely.
  • Verify your streaming URL and stream key are correct - even a small typo can cause failures.
  • Try streaming again after completing the steps above.

You hear: Meta glasses getting hot let them cool

The glasses include built-in temperature safety mechanisms that monitor heat and can limit functionality or require a cooldown once thresholds are reached. The SDK we use from Meta is still in development and can be unstable.

How to fix it

  • Turn off your glasses using the physical switch on the left arm.
  • Wait about 15 minutes for them to cool down.
  • After they’ve cooled down, charge them fully.
  • Some users have reported success by turning the glasses off and on again before reconnecting.
  • If that doesn’t help, clear all MetaLensAI app data and then reinstall it.
  • If you still experience the issue, the Meta SDK we rely on may not be stable enough for your device or setup yet.
  • MetaLensAI cannot directly control or fix issues in the Meta SDK, so after a few attempts it may be best to wait for a more stable SDK release from Meta.
  • Avoid making too many attempts in a short period, as it may increase heat and cause further issues with your glasses.
  • Streaming and related features are experimental and may not work reliably on all devices and setups.
  • Use at your own risk.

I can’t see the app in the Play Store.

MetaLens AI uses a new Meta SDK that is not publicly released yet, so it is distributed via APK for now.

"Connection OK" fails in AI Settings.

Verify your OpenAI API key is valid and saved, and that your phone has internet access.

How to update MetaLens AI?

Open Settings in MetaLens AI, then tap Version in the About section to check for the latest release.

  • In the MetaLens AI app, go to Settings.
  • Scroll to the About section and tap Version.
  • If you are not up to date, tap Open release.
  • Download the latest .apk file and install it.
